Merceditas Gutierrez Resigns!

Philippine Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez is scheduled to face a trial on the Senate soon. But before she even made it there, she personally submitted her resignation letter to PNoy earlier today.

In her statement on TV, Gutierrez said: “By tendering my resignation effective May 6, 2011, I hope we can now all focus on the problems of our people, rather than expending efforts and resources to remove me from public office.”
“In the past weeks, it has become evident that the villification by my detractors will go on… I wanted to face my accusers whatever the personal agony it may have involved but the interests of my family, my office and nation are more important,” Gutierrez added.
“The President needs an Ombudsman with whom he has full confidence,” Gutierrez said, and that “the country needs a full time Ombudsman, and a full-time Congress” which would not have been possible had she stayed in office and went through a Senate trial.

Below's a copy of the alleged resignation letter she submitted:

Well, if this is true, all I can say is....FINALLY!!!

Life is a journey. Wear comfortable shoes.

My mom gave me these wonderful pair of shoes over the weekend. It was actually a gift to her from our relatives in Canada, but it was too big for her. I got lucky since it fits me perfectly.

I actually wore it to work today, and to my surprise, this pair must be one of, if not the most comfortable shoes I've everstepped on. Its brand is SAS, short for San Antonio Shoes, and when I searched online, true enough, it was handcrafted and made with ultimate comfort in mind. Most SAS shoes cost between US$90  and US$200, a little expensive but I say their really worth it.

The style I got was called, Siesta and it came in Bone color. I'm totally loving it to bits....I can already see myself walking for hours thru the streets of HK wearing it...soon =)

Another proud moment for us Filipinos! One of our very own Fashion Designers, Michael Cinco (who's actually based in Dubai), took part in the current cycle of Tyra Banks' America's Next Top Model. Thanks to FACEBOOK, his couture works in the recent Philippine Fashion Week 2010/2011 has been getting rave reviews worldwide.

The challenge for this episode of ANTM was to go ECO-Couture on a Landfill, what a contrast! Below are the shots from the show:
