MAC Wonder Woman Collection
This is one collection from MAC I'm all too excited about. I grew up watching Super Friends and can still recall Linda Carter portraying Wonder Woman so this definitely hit the kid in me!
The MAC Wonder Woman collection will be launched on Feb. 10, 2011 in the US and March 2011 elsewhere.
Below are some of the items included in the collection.
Among these, I'm actually looking forward to the Blush Duo's and Mineralize Skin Finishes...But with the nerdy-cool packages (yes! I'm truly a nerd!) don't you just wish to have all of them???

Forever 21: Soon at SM Makati!
I might be late on this news already, but I got a lovely surprise when I stumbled upon this earlier today as I was going down the escalator from the 2nd floor of SM Makati.
Yay! Megamall has always been quite difficult to access for me given that I work at the BGC and live way out east... Forever 21 at SM Makati is on the ground floor of SM Dept Store, occupying the former area of the teen section, right across the cosmetics department...

FOOD TRIP: Chariya's Thai Kitchen
Last Saturday, hubby and I braved Divisoria to look for more party favors for Joaquin's birthday party on the 15th. I was actually surprised to find out that 168 Mall further extended its space and that there's a new mall right beside it, called 999. We had lunch at the food court of 168 mall where we chanced upon this Thai place called Chariya's Thai Kitchen. Their food was cheap at about 100 pesos on average. We ended up ordering the Bagoong Rice, Tom Yum and Seafood Pancit Canton.

LUNCH @ MILE-HI DINER
Had a lunch out the other day. And boy was I surprised to find out that the MILE-HI Diner from Camp John Hay in Baguio is here at Burgos Circle, Forbes Town Center in Bonifacio Global City. Mile-Hi Diner was introduced to us by our former boss, Sir Boy P, when we visited him at his vacaction home in Baguio. Although the Diner's look was All-American, they also serve All-Day Pinoy breakfast at very affordable prices (i.e. below Php 200).

Make Up For Ever Scultping Kit: Reviews and Swatches
When I was in make-up school, our teacher mentioned Make Up For Ever's contour and highlight powder (Sculpting Kit) as one of the best. Hence, I told myself to get a hold of it when I have the chance to drop by their store at Bonifacio High Street.
Make Up For Ever Sculpting Kit is available in 4 shades, and when I asked Angie, their Sales Manager which would be best for Filipina/Asian skin, she told me it was Shade No. 02. According to her it was the shade they use the most in their store and studio. I was initially thinking of getting the darkest one, No. 04 but when I swatched it and compared against 02, shade 04 appeared too dark and a bit red. Indeed shade 02 looked much better on the back of my hand. Hence, I just took Angie's recommendation and got shade 02.
I actually love the fact that both the contour and highlight powders of the Sculpting Kit felt quite creamy and easily blendable. The color is also buildable so you can actually use it among a wide range of skin shades.
Below are some product shots and swatches of Make Up For Ever's Sculpting Kit No. 2:
Note that for the swatches, I swiped the product about 3-4 times to ensure that they appear on the photo.
Make Up For Ever Sculpting Kit is sold for Php 2,200 and is available at Make Up For Ever Bonifacio High Street and Shangri-La Mall.

MAC Viva Glam Gaga vs. Pink Nouveau Lipsticks
Two of MAC's most coveted and frequently out-of-stock pink shades are Viva Glam Gaga and Pink Nouveau. So what's the fuzz all about? Which one is actually better?
VIVA GLAM GAGA
MAC's description: A limited edition VIVA GLAM Lipstick named after celebrity spokesperson Lady Gaga. Features a high lustre finish and cool blue-pink shade.
MINE: In my opinion, it takes a bit of confidence to wear this light cotton candy pink + blue tone shade. But if properly pulled off, it can easily add a subtle "oomph" to your total look.
It's shiny and a bit sheer but is actually buildable as the colors build quite quickly if you want it to be more noticeable.
PINK NOUVEAU
MAC's description: Bright Pink (Satin) shade. Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M·A·C famous.
MINE: Pink Nouveau's color pay-off is really great but its finish is quite matte and can make your lips appear dry. As such, it is best if you prep your lips with lip balm prior to application. It's pink shade is more intense than the Viva Glam Gaga's and I honestly find this more wearable even in daytime.
Below are some pics and swatches comparing both lipsticks:
How about you, which of the two shades do you prefer?

NAIL ART: Leopard Nails - My First Attempt
I have tiny hands with tiny fingers and uber tiny nails. As such, I've never really tried having nail art done on my nails at a salon. As I was attempting to do my nails while Joaquin was asleep this weekend, I decided to finally use the nail art pen I bought months ago. I wasn't really sure with what I wanted to do so I just played with it and came up with, tiny leopard prints on my tiny nails:
Just in case you're wondering what nail colors I used, here they are:
And oh yes, I love cheap products! =P

10 Color Blush Palette: Review & Swatches
Months ago, I bought the 10 Color Blush Palette from eBay in preparation for make-up school. I already forgot how much exactly I paid for it but I think it was around Php 800. This was after a dear friend of mine, Mea, told me that she loved this palette which she got from Dollface Cosmetics.
Although I intended to use the palette for make-up school, I haven't really used this palette as much as I would want to since I was also able to acquire several other blushes. But similar to how I feel about the 120 Color Eyeshadow Palette, this blush palette is also a combination of hits and misses --i.e. some shades are pigmented while some aren't. So again, I would only suggest this palette for those who want to be practical and would want a lot of blush shades at a lower cost.
Below are some photos and swatches of the 10 Color Blush Palette. Note that for the swatches, I swiped the blush 3-5 times for it to appear on the photo.

120 Color Eyeshadow Palette: Review and Swatches
Happy New Year Everyone! I'm so glad Joaquin woke up just in time for the New Year's countdown. Haha...His eyes went big as he heard thunderous fire crackers all around. Anyway, he fell asleep soon after, as he finished up his bottle of milk, giving me the chance to finally post my review and swatches from the 120 Color Eyeshadow Palette I got weeks ago for make-up classes.
I got this 120 Color Eyeshadow Palette online from getsophisticated for Php 1,100. I was supposed to get the 88 Color Eyeshadow Palette which was selling for Php 800. But it seemed that the additional Php 300 would be worth it for the 120 Color Eyeshadow Palette. She was selling 2 sets of the 120 Color Eyeshadow Palette and I opted for the 2nd one as it has more blues and greens which I love.
Overall, the palette truly gives the bang for your buck. Although there were several colors, mostly the matte ones, that were "misses" for me (as they were not pigmented enough), there also a lot of colors that were "hits" (pigmented), especially the frosted and shimmery ones. I guess paying about Php 9.17 per color is reason enough to get this palette, especially if you're just starting out with make-up or is into make-up school. Also, these shadows, especially the less pigmented ones tend to work better with a primer, which I think is generally true for all eyeshadows.
Anyway, below are some pics and swatches from the 120 Color Eyeshadow Palette. Note though that I had to swipe some of the colors 3-5 times to ensure they appear on the photos.
