Earlier today, Arabella, my 6-year old bassethound also died due to pneumonia which she was battling for over 2 weeks now. I know she was sick and all but I never really expected this since the vet told us yesterday that she was getting better. But oh well, I guess she never really recovered especially with the storm we had over the weekend.
I can still remember the first time I laid my eyes on Arabella at the breeder's house. I was out to look for Jimmy's playmate and found the breeder's name on a pet forum. There wer 3 bassethound pups available but it was really Ara that caught my eye. I was only supposed to take a look at the pups and check out other breeders after but I just had to bring home Arabella with me right that instant.
I know I'm really gonna miss her as she's the gentlest dog I've ever had. I'll miss having her on my lap as she wraps her front legs on my shoulders and rests her head on mine.The tone of her bark also seems like "music" to my ears compared to the yappy bark of my other small breed dogs.
My dear Arabella, I know you're now in doggie heaven running around with your pal Jimmy, Choco and Sexy. You'll forever be missed.
