MAC SHEEN SUPREME LIPSTICK! A Modern See-Through Sheen

MAC launched a new permanent line of lipsticks, the Sheen Supreme Lipstick. It is now available in the US and I can't wait till it reaches our shores...

According to Mac, these glossy lipsticks moisturize the lips without that sticky feeling. Considered a hybrid of sorts, it blends the color impact of a lipstick alng with the sheer shine of a lipglass. Can't wait to try it though... =)

MAJOR MAC HAUL

Well actually, I didn't personally haul these MAC products. I had asked my aunt to purchase some MAC stuff for me from Canada which amounted to around 300 Canadian dollars and she ended up giving them to me as my pasalubong when they arrived in Manila last Jan 26. She and my other aunt even added several more items to my list.

Imagine the huge smile on my face as she handed to me this bag:

I felt giddy, like I was a kid opening my gift on Christmas eve. Haha...And here's what's found inside:

- several foundation pumps (for my studio fix flluids), yay! no more mess!
- eyeshadow refill pans (embark, satin taupe, cork, naked lunch, fiction, shroom, bamboo)
- lipsticks (russian red, twig)
- slimshine lipstick (grenadine)
- studio stick concealer in NW20
-  impeccable eyebrow pencils (blonde, taupe)
- limited edition eyeshadows (knight, 100 strokes)
- blush refill pans (pink swoon, melba, dollymix)

I just hope this loot will stop me from buying make-up for some time...haha

MAC Viva Glam Gaga vs. Pink Nouveau Lipsticks

Two of MAC's most coveted and frequently out-of-stock pink shades are Viva Glam Gaga and Pink Nouveau. So what's the fuzz all about? Which one is actually better?

VIVA GLAM GAGA
MAC's description: A limited edition VIVA GLAM Lipstick named after celebrity spokesperson Lady Gaga. Features a high lustre finish and cool blue-pink shade.

MINE: In my opinion, it takes a bit of confidence to wear this light cotton candy pink + blue tone shade.But if properly pulled off, it can easily add a subtle "oomph" to your total look.
It's shiny and a bit sheer but is actually buildable as the colors build quite quickly if you want it to be more noticeable.

PINK NOUVEAU
MAC's description: Bright Pink (Satin) shade. Colour plus texture for the lips. Stands out on the runway. Simmers on the street! What made M·A·C famous.

MINE: Pink Nouveau's color pay-off is really great but its finish is quite matte and can make your lips appear dry. As such, it is best if you prep your lips with lip balm prior to application. It's pink shade is more intense than the Viva Glam Gaga's and I honestly find this more wearable even in daytime.

DIY Lip Palette

There have been several versions of the DIY lip palette online and I decided to do mine. It pisses me off when I see my lipsticks get all messy inside the tube and so I decided to transfer them into a palette, which would be a lot easier to scoop up with a spatula especially while doing make-up on other people.

I found the perfect palette-to-be a couple of days ago from Daiso, a Japanese home store selling everything either for 66 or 88 Pesos. This was actually intended as storage for jewelry or crafts. I loved that its main case is balck and has 15 wells. The size of each well was actually perfect and could fit a full lipstick. It costs 66 pesos a piece and I got a couple of pcs.

While others just spat their lipstick into the wells, I prefer melting them and pouring them slowly into each well just so they look all clean and organized. I'm OC that way! Haha

I also peeled off the labels of each lipstick and stuck them on the cover just so I'm reminded of the shade/brand of each lipstick.

I have yet to fill the entire palette, if only I have more time.
