Smashbox Wish For The Perfect Palette: Review & Swatches

It's been over a week since my last post. I've been busy with the Holidays especially since its my son's first Christmas!

Anyway, with a lot of gift-giving going on around us, I grabbed the opportunity to get myself, yep--MYSELF, haha, a gift. It's actually my make-up class graduation and Christmas gift in one. And what would be the perfect gift for me this time? A make-up palette which has almost everything that I'll need when doing make-up!

Thank goodness I stumbled upon Smashbox Wish for The Perfect Palette at Beauty Bar MOA. It has 49 eyeshadows in various colors and finishes, 2 blushes, 1 bronzer and 1 highlighter, 8 lip glosses, 10 gel liners, 6 eyebrow powders and a brow gel plus 4 small brushes. Now ain't that a MONSTER of a palette! And what's great about it is that you get it for a reasonable price of Php 3,400.

Now off to the product pictures and swatches of the Smashbox Wish for The Perfect Palette. Note though that for the swatches, I had to swipe them about 3-5 times for them to appear on the camera.

What's in my daily cosmetic bag?

Since I went to make-up school, I've been more observant of the make-up that other people wear. I always wonder, everytime I see someone with perfectly put-on "everyday" make-up, what could be the staples in their make-up or "kikay" kit...

Anyway, I've been through make-up school for only two months and have actually just explored a few brands but so far, these are the things I find myself putting inside my cosmetic bag on workdays...

just a few stuff, really

L'Oreal True Match Super Blendable Foundation in Golden Beige

MAC Studio Fix Powder + Foundation in NC 35

MAC Sheertone Blush in Blushbaby

Smashbox Brow Tech Quad

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion (original)

In2it Waterproof Gel Liner in black

Maybelline Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara in black

Maybelline EyeStudio Lasting Drama GelEyeliner in black

My customized brown palette
(clockwise rom top: Elianto Vibrant Shadow ,
PAC Pressed matte eyeshadow in MO7,
PAC Pressed matte eyshadow in MO6, and
Elianto Vibrant Shadow )
*I missed to take a shot of the lipstick I use daily, but it's a toss between Nyx Round Lipstick in FIG or Ever Bilena's Cherish.

I don't really say that these are actually the BEST products for me, it's just that I find these products to be good for daily use.

What make-up items are in your cosmetic bags? Share them with me, I'd love to hear what you guys use daily.

Latest Haul: Make-up and other stuff

We're nearing the end of our Artistic make-up course and I'm still buying stuff for school. Anyway, over the last long weekend, I purchased quite a lot of things, still mostly for make-up school and a couple of items that I wanted to try.
    And here they are:
  1. disposable lipgloss wands
  2. disposable lip brushes
  3. disposable mascara wands
  4. disposable spatulas of various sizes
  5. eyebrow shaver
  6. LashGrip eyelash adhesive
  7. huge false lashes
  8. stainless double ended spatula
  9. MAC 190 brush
  10. MAC 266 brush
  11. MAC 242 brush
  12. MAC lip pencil (Spice)
  13. Shu Uemura eyelash curler
  14. L'Oreal True Match liquid foundation (Golden Beige)
  15. Revlon Photoready liquid foundation (Golden Beige)
  16. Maybelline Eye Studio BrowDefinist (Brown)
  17. Graftobian HD Glamour Creme Palette (Warm #1)
  18. Smashbox Lip Service Palette (#2)
  19. MAC Eye shadow (Carbon)
  20. MAC blush (Blushbaby)
  21. Stay-put hair velcros
  22. more false lashes
These were just over the long weekend. I still had to get a couple more stuff for school in the past few days, which I'll be posting on my next "latest haul" post. Waaah!

Most of the items above will be used for school and for our upcoming finals. The L'Oreal and Revlon fluid foundations and Graftobian creme foundation palette aren't really for school, as I have already purchased enough MAC Studio Fix fluids for that.  I just heard and read good reviews about them so I wanted to try them out for personal use.

I also purchased the Maybelline browdefinist just to give it a try and compare it against the Fanny Serrano eyebrow kit I'm using for school.  I personally use the Smahbox brow tech quad but it's almost used up so I wanted to find a good and cheap alternative to it as well. I'm really no expert when it comes to reviewing make-up but I'm hoping that I'll be able to review these products as soon as I have enough time/experience with using them.

Have you tried using any of th products I bought above? I would really appreciate it if you can share your experiences of using them with me. Till my next haul! Haha..
